Brooks Center for the Performing Arts - Vincent in Brixton

Link: http://www.clemson.edu/Brooks/events/detail.php?ID=674

Before he became the artist who painted Starry Night, Vincent Van Gogh was an ordinary 20-year-old searching for a room to rent. In Nicholas Wright’s play, loosely based on the artist’s life, Vincent finds himself in the Brixton section of London where he kindles an unrequited love for his new landlady. Meet the artist as a young man as he begins his journey that will end in breakdown, death, and artistic immortality.

It is all that remains of a military outpost that was built during a period of tension between the white settlers and the Indians. The brick house at Oconee Station was built in 1805 and served as the residence of a merchant who ran a trading post on the site. Both are open for tours on Saturday and Sunday from 1p.m. - 5p.m. and by appointment.
